# Roadless

> Roadless.org is the public campaign to defend the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule, which protects ~58.5 million acres of National Forest System lands from new road construction and logging. The site helps members of the public write and submit personalized public comments to the U.S. Forest Service, contact their representatives, and learn the evidence behind the issue.

The core of the site is a set of comment-composition surfaces that turn what a person cares about into a well-supported public comment for the Forest Service rulemaking docket. Visitors can build a comment three ways — a guided Learning Map, a drag-and-drop Workspace, or a linear wizard — all backed by a shared citation corpus, research reports, and per-concern explainers. Supporting tools cover congressional contact and a bibliography over the cited sources.
