I am a resident of Hillsborough County in the state of Florida and 16th generation Floridian. I respectfully urge you to withdraw this proposal and retain the Roadless Rule's national protections. Florida’s three National Forests are home to hundreds of endangered and threatened species and provide a substantial part of Florida's outdoor recreation economy, which depends on the undeveloped character of these forests and on the clean water that flows from them. Opening currently roadless areas to new road construction and timber harvesting would cause substantial harm to both the people and wildlife that utilize them. I respectfully ask the USDA to withdraw the proposed rule and retain the 2001 Roadless Rule's national protections in full.

There comes a point when we just have to limit and protect what cannot be recreated. We are custodians of our great state and surely we can be proud of our protected forests. We don't need our natural forests destroyed with paved roads that will increase unwelcomed traffic and cause undue stress on Florida's natural habitat.

We depend on the open areas for cleaner air, less light pollution, and recreational areas. We have enjoyed camping and hiking through this wilderness. We need to be able to experience nature to rebuild our cognitive abilities and reduce the stress of living in our deeply technical world.
