Destroying our special places is not an efficient money maker, but rather a deadly and irreversible scourge. Keep roadless areas just that. The Forest Service should keep the Roadless Rule intact exactly as it is. Do not weaken or repeal this critical policy. National forests are the heart of our public lands. The Roadless Area Conservation Rule protects some of the wildest forests we have left, forests that protect critical wildlife habitat and drinking water for millions. Revoking the Roadless Rule puts landscapes, wildlife, and communities at risk. Not only is the Roadless Rule good policy, it's also wildly popular across the country, with over 600,000 people submitting comments to the US Forest Service last year in support of keeping the rule in place. And more than 20 years ago, the American people overwhelmingly called for our national forests to be protected for future generations. Revoking the Roadless Rule would destroy the natural inheritance we leave for our children.

We have a responsibility to protect roadless areas from needless encroachment. Must there be nothing left untouched by man? Has man not done enough already to pave over Mother Earth, to subdue her, to tame what is wild? Why can we not learn from our past mistakes? This is out one opportunity to protect these areas for future generations to enjoy. Please do what you know in your heart is right. I grew up camping, hiking, and getting to see some of the most beautiful lands that make up the United States. It is heartbreaking to see this administration stripping away protections put in place throughout decades without thought or listening to the people of the United States. The actions to dismantle the protection of these sacred and irreplaceable lands is abhorrent. Do the right thing and protect our roadless forests for future generations. I have had the privilege of enjoying roadless areas and would like my grandkids to have the same awe inspiring privilege. Wilderness is critical to keeping our connection to our natural environment. It adds to our balance and sense of peace, and we can certainly use more of that as our world becomes more hectic. These roadless places are refuges for all of us as us citizens, for wildlife, for all creatures on earth and it is our moral obligation to protect these areas against destruction. This is our land and should not be sacrificed on behalf of greedy corporations and a select few. Public lands should be maintained for the good of ALL people not as a resource to be raped by those the greedy. Protect out Roadless public lands! our earth has already suffered enough due to lack of federal regulations on careless industries--in other countries more than ours. things like the roadless rule keep the U.S. healthier and cleaner than other less appealing parts of the world, which have been overtaken by cement and pollution. maintaining forest and wildlife safety in those few and far between untouched areas is crucial to keeping a balance between modern capitalism and a safe planet! As someone who grew up next to forests in Virginia, I am very familiar with their incredible importance for humans and all life in our various eco-systems here in this beautiful state. For the sake of our common home and our children, we adults need to act responsibly and protect our forests, not exploit and destroy them in the name of profit. We've already seen the devastation that comes with deforestation. Weather changes, the land becomes less durable, and wildlife becomes extinct (including human habitability). Not only that but these are emotionally, mentally and spiritually important lands for all living beings. All creatures rely on these lands to feel safe, to reset and to connect to the real world around us. We shouldn't have to continuously state time and time again that we want these lands protected.
