I am writing to express my vehement opposition to any efforts to rescind, weaken, or roll back the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule. As an avid user and advocate for our nation's public lands, I rely heavily on the integrity and protection of our inventoried roadless areas. I frequently visit Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests near my home in Asheville, NC. Protecting these unfragmented landscapes is deeply personal to me because I regularly hike and camp in these backcountry areas, work in wilderness-supported addiction treatment, and rely on these watersheds for clean drinking water. I also feel strongly that we act as stewards for wildlife and diverse ecosystems in these areas. Over half of vulnerable species rely on roadless areas. I urge the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to abandon the proposed rescission and instead maintain full protections for all currently designated inventoried roadless areas.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide public comment.
Sincerely,
Fiona Abrams
I am writing to express my intense opposition to any efforts to rescind, weaken, or roll back the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule. As an avid user and advocate for our nation's public lands, I rely heavily on the integrity and protection of our inventoried roadless areas. I frequently visit Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests near my home in Asheville, NC. Protecting these unfragmented landscapes is deeply personal to me because I regularly hike and camp in these backcountry areas, rely on these watersheds for clean drinking water and value the biodiversity of flora and fauna. These vulnerable areas are protected by the current rule and it would be detrimental to roll back. I urge the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to abandon the proposed rescission and instead maintain full protections for all currently designated inventoried roadless areas. Thank you for the opportunity to provide public comment. Sincerely,

As an avid user and advocate for our nation’s public lands, I rely heavily on the integrity and protection of our inventoried roadless areas. I frequently visit several of the hiking trails near my home in Asheville. Protecting these unfragmented landscapes is deeply personal to me because in recent years in particular we've seen an incredible increase in the destruction of what remains of our natural environments. I urge the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to abandon the proposed rescission and instead maintain full protections for all currently designated inventoried roadless areas.
