The comment

Dear Director White, Please accept NOLS attached comments regarding the proposed rescission of the 2001 Roadless Rule. NOLS is not in favor of the proposed rescission. We believe that the rescission is bad for the outfitter/guide community and for Wyoming's $2.3 billion outdoor recreation economy. As noted in our comments, this is corroborated by the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) itself. Additionally, the DEIS makes it clear that the proposed rescission will not reduce wildfire hazards; rather, it is more likely to result in an increase in wildfire ignition. Also, any increased revenue from logging is likely to be offset by the cost of building/maintaining additional roads and the potential impact of this on drinking water resources. All-in-all the rescission seems like a bad idea. Thanks for your time and consideration.
