The comment

Alterations to the Roadless Rule would severely impact not just every Americans right to public access but would be extremely detrimental to the conservation of our collective public lands and environment. There are thousands of miles of existing Forest Service roads and trails which require maintenance they do not receive, adding more roads would only serve to increase the scope of an already prevalent issue. Contrary to claims made by those who promote the slashing of the Roadless Rule, adding more roads on Forest Service land would not increase access to these lands, only eliminate the natural beauty of places which are already accessible. The abolishment of the Roadless Rule is not about increased access and fire prevention as it claims to be, it is about creating new roads which can be used for the purposes of illegal natural resource extraction. Access not for the American people, but for mining, logging, and development corporations who only view the land fiscally. I strongly oppose the rescission of the Roadless Rule.
