The comment

The roadless rule has helped conserve habitat for fish and game while avoiding unecessary costs associated with building and maintaining roads that we do not need. I have enough experience in the backwooods and backroads to know that more roads leads to additional human caused fire risk, vandalism, and illegal dumping. No one I know (including many wildland firefighters) is convinced this will help firefighting efforts. This would also put increased strain on rural law enforcement that is already stretched too thin.
