One of our great country’s finest assets is our wild, roadless lands. From Smoky Mountains National Park to Baker-Snowqualmie National Forest, I’ve spent the better part of 3 years traversing this landscape. Every single European I’ve encountered along the way has marveled at our wild spaces. These don’t exist in most developed nations. Our wild spaces stand unique above the rest of the world. They are one way that makes America great. To rescind the roadless rule would quite literally cut our greatness and thwart decades of conservation efforts. Our wild spaces deserve to stay wild. Do not rescind the roadless rule.
